Our Redeemer gets FESMOS Grant

Caring for Our Neighbors is a new social ministry to begin in January 2010. Our Redeemer has been awarded a $600 FESMOS (First English St. Mark's Our Saviour) grant based on an application that Pastor Meyer and Mary Rainey submitted in September. The grant will help people in Schenectady County that are seeking employment with transportation, job readiness, supplies, and other items they may need to obtain or sustain their employment.

EMERGENCY GENERATOR

On September 10, 2009 an emergency power generator was installed at the church. This will provide power inside portions of the building during power outages thereby allowing the church to be used as a temporary warming place if needed. The funding was provided by the Jean Kaufmann memorial fund.

NEW CLOSED CIRCUIT TELEVISION
An Eagle Scout project by Josh Barndt gives Our Redeemer the capacity to provide closed circuit television from the Sanctuary to the Fellowship Hall when we have overflow attendance at services.

NEW STAINED GLASS WINDOWS
Sixteen memorial stained glass windows will be dedicated to the glory of God and the renovated Sanctuary was re-dedicated on November 20, 2005. The community was invited to this dedication service and reception in the Fellowship Hall following the service.

NEW SIDING and AIR CONDITIONING
The sanctuary has been vinyl sided with money from the Building Fund.  We have installed new air conditioning to replace the 30+ year old window air conditioners.  The building looks great and we won't have to paint it every few years.

NEW ROOF
Interior stablization of the roof and exterior replacement of the roof shingles has been completed. The recycled tire shingles and copper flashing "dress up" the sanctuary and will last much longer than asphalt shingles. Click on picture below for a larger picture of the Church.
